Draft Norman

On May 1, 2004 Steve Brown headed the Draft Norman Committee, with Headquarters in Santa Barbara, California and a website, now long gone.

Ten years have passed, don't you wish we could Draft Norman today?

From the depths of my computer I dug out the original outline for the site and, in memory of Steve and Norman, will rebuild some of the site here.

This is history today, but in 2004 it caused flurries of interest from many quarters, including from the newly started Veterans Party.

                                                           Our Campaign Song

General Norman Schwarzkopf is the man we need to sit at the desk in the Oval Office.  He is a proven leader who understands his responsibilities  to those he leads.  He is competent to handle the problems we face today as a nation and no one else has the body of experience with the military and the trust of the leadership in the Middle East as well as the confidence of so many Americans here at home.  No small part of that confidence comes from his distaste for politics.

Veterans know they can trust him.  Those of us who spent time in the military know his reputation for humanitarianism and balls, an unusual combination.  With Norman as President veterans will not be warehoused, mistreated and discarded.  General Schwarzkopf would not have gone into Iraq without an exit strategy; he will not keep us there when doing so risks all that America means.

That would be reason enough for us to ask him to be America's candidate for President.  But on top of that he is a genuine good guy who has shown a constant concern for the wellbeing of ordinary people.  He will not fail to make the many changes necessary to put America back on a sound financial footing while removing us from the threats we face.
If you want to know more about General Schwarzkopf look over the links on the home page and read his book, It Doesn't Take a Hero.
